Retinopathy due to prematurity
Prematurity is a very important factor of risk for the visual function. The most serious risk is the development of retinopathy during the first weeks of life, which may evolve for retinal detachment and blindness. At medium and long term, there is a greater risk of refractive errors, strabismus and alterations of visual fields.
